Schools

Several school districts serve Glendale, including the Glendale Elementary School District, which operates schools in grades K-8 and serves a central portion of the city, and the Glendale Union High School District, founded in 1911, which operates nine comprehensive high schools serving most of Glendale and part of Phoenix. The Peoria Unified School District and Washington Elementary School District also serve portions of the city. To confirm which schools serve a specific address, boundary maps are available directly from each district's website.

Getting around

Glendale is served by several freeways, including Interstate 10 through the southern portion of the city, Interstate 17 on the east side, and Loop 101, which is the only freeway to cross directly through the city. Valley Metro provides bus service in the city, and the light rail's Glendale/19th Avenue station connects to Valley Metro Bus routes into Glendale. As a suburb of Phoenix, Glendale does not have its own major commercial airport, though Glendale Municipal Airport serves general aviation, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the main airport for the area.

Things to do

Glendale is home to State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals football team, and the Arrowhead Towne Center shopping mall.
